We’re looking for case writers of all levels of experience to join us for a 1-day -hackathon- this November 9, 2018. Based on a recently trialled new format at this year’s Eastern Academy of Management conference, we want to get a number of case writing academics together to network, share ideas and approaches, and ultimately start to create a collaborative case that can be considered for publication.
When: | November 9 2018, 9:00am – 2:30pm | |
Where: | Emerald Group Publishing 120 Beacon Street Suite 202 Somerville, MA 02143 |
Lunch will be provided.
A case hackathon enables you to intensively collaborate and come away with a useable project. The hackthon will be facilitated by Dr Rebecca Morris, the Editor-in-Chief of The CASE Journal (TCJ) and a past-president of The CASE Association and the North American Case Research Association (NACRA). Her own cases have been included in more than twenty Strategic Management, International Business and Business Ethics textbooks and she continues to teach at Westfield State University.
Rebecca has a particular interest in compact cases of 500-1,000 words, these are accessible, readable and particularly engaging for students. These have fewer learning objectives but are still accompanied by a full instructors manual and subject to the same review process as any other case. For this event we’ll be focusing on working in small teams to produce the skeleton outline of a compact case, with the intention of continuing the collaboration outside of the event to move it forward to a point at which it will be ready for review in The CASE Journal.
Intrigued?
