The CASE Association recently announced the winner of the 2018 CASE/Emerald Best Case Award during The CASE Association’s 2019 Annual Meeting in Wilmington, Delaware.
Criteria included:
Quality of the case based on:
- Engaging writing style
- Timelessness and significance of the subject matter
- A challenging problem or analysis
Quality of the instructors’ manual/teaching note as a critical component of the case, even though not a ‘published’ component based on:
- Research contribution
- Method by which it elevates the case to meaningful status
- Practical pedagogical guidance offered to instructors
- Contributions to the field
Three finalists for the Emerald Best Case Award:

“Yellow card: U.S. Women’s Soccer seeks pay equity” byJoanna Kimbell, Anne Macy, Emily Ehrlich Hammer, (All of West Texas A&M University, Canyon, Texas, USA)and Denise Philpot, (University of North Texas, Denton, Texas, USA)
